The Public Library of Scienceが，PLoS Pathogensを2005年9月から月刊で刊行予定だと発表していました。これで，PLoS刊行雑誌は，PLoS Biology，PLoS Computational Biology，PLoS Genetics，PLoS Medicineとあわせて五タイトルとなりました。
